🇮🇹 ItaliaPass Insider - March 3, 2022

Buongiorno, ItaliaPass insiders! Here is our weekly recap of the latest and greatest of what’s happening in our community of Italy travelers. Ready? Andiamo! (Let’s go!)

The big picture:

March 1 marked a big change in entry requirements, in that Italy now applies the same entry requirements to visitors from all countries. That means all those complicated lists for different countries are now shelved. Hooray!

Plus, our community of super intrepid travelers has been really busy lately, checking out the ski slopes and experiencing the unique beauty of Carnevale.

A closer look:

  • One of our members posted an on-the-ground report from his experience skiing over half term. Insiders, these reports are so helpful! Keep them coming! Have a look at Peter’s insider information here.

“Headline was it was a fantastic holiday, my first skiing trip and first trip to Italy and based on this will definitely be going back again.”

  • Another member with a talent for photography shared some scenes direct from Venice at Carnevale. Breathtaking! Have a look at John’s photos here.

In Venice and enjoying Carnival immensely! Weather has been great here, sunny and comfortable for walking. Crowds are at pre-Covid levels. Despite the crowds, people are friendly, considerate, and happy to be here. Visuals are a photographers dream.

  • Speaking of Carnevale, there is so much to know and learn! We even have not one, but TWO dual-language features for all you Italian buffs out there. Have a look at our Buon Carnevale content roundup here.

  • Calling all experienced Italy travelers! James is looking for day trips by train from Rome, Florence, La Spezia, Milan and Venice. What have you got for him? Share your best tips right here.

  • And in this week’s poll, we’re wondering how many times you’ve visited Italy! If you’ve never been, tell us in the comments where you want to go! And if you’ve been once or more, give us all your best tips. Add your answer here!

And just for fun:

This animated Bruno Bozzetto video, EUROPE vs ITALY, makes the rounds every once in a while. If you’ve been to Italy, you’ll definitely recognize some of these surreal moments! And if you haven’t, get ready to discover why, as the video says, “This film is dedicated to those who believe that Italians behave the same as all other Europeans.” Buon divertimento! (Have fun!)
