Asked a question last year

Can anyone advise of GOOD restaurants that are not overwhelmed by the tourist trade? Menu only in Italian is quite OK. Going to be in Cinque Terre, staying in Manarola. With the train, ferry and walkpaths, we figure to be very mobile, can go anywhere in the area where there is good food.

I have a few recommendations........

  1.  Monterosso al Mare: Ristorante Miky. (Best seafood risotto we've ever eaten!)
  2. Corniglia: Enoteca Il Purin - Wine is served in a glass carafe that resembles a watering can. Guests wear a bib and drink from the long spout. The food was good, the wine OK. More of an experience!
  3. Manarola: Nessun Dorma Cinque Terre - A wine bar literally built into the cliffs. Best view of Manarola! Food is casual, fresh and locally sourced.
  4. Riomaggiore:  Closely off the coast of Riomaggiore is the small island of Palmaria. Supposedly, there's a restaurant on the island that is well known to the rich & famous.......Locanda Lorena. Guests take a water shuttle to the island restaurant for lunch or dinner. The chef/owner is a character. The food is described as fresh and classic. This one is on our Bucket List!

We love the Cinque Terre.......Hope you have an amazing trip!
