A first generation American and the daughter of Sicilian immigrants, as a young adult I found it difficult to accept the fact that I had never been to Italy, nor did I speak the language. I arranged to come to Italy as a student in 1997, and needless to say a year abroad was only the beginning of my lifelong love affair with Italy.
When I got married and invited 18 family members to come along on my big fat Italian honeymoon, I knew that mine was not your average italophile's love for Italy. But to me it made perfect sense, and shortly thereafter I left my job working as a translator and founded When in Rome Tours. The rest, cari amici, is history!
