An airport strike that was originally scheduled for Monday, February 16, was moved to Thursday, February 26 after the Italian government blocked the strike to prevent travel disruption during the Winter Olympic Games.
The strike is a 24-hour walkout planned by staff of Italian national carrier ITA. Vueling flight attendants and easyJet pilots and flight attendants had also planned walkouts for Monday, February 16, that will likely take now take place on February 26.
However, by law, workers must remain in service during the hours of 7-10 am and 6-9 pm.
Another strike is planned on March 7, by air traffic controllers.
