New 'Super Green Pass' during Christmas season in Italy

The Italian government is implementing a "Super Green Pass" during the holiday season from December 6, 2021 to January 15, 2022. (Update December 15, 2022: the government has extended the super green pass restrictions through March 31, 2022.)

A super green pass is a certificate of full vaccination (at least two doses with the 2nd dose or booster dose within the past nine months - changing to six months on February 1, 2022) or an official government or health authority recovery certificate with validity for six months from the start date on the certificate.

Check additional December 23 "holiday decree" restrictions here and December 29 additional super green pass restrictions here.

Starting January 10, 2022, the super green pass requirement will be extended to hotels, all forms of public transport (domestic flights, buses, trains, ferries, local public transport), museums, cultural sites, thermal complexes, fitness centers, and other locations.

We translated into English the Italian government's chart specifying what activities are permitted without a green pass, with a basic green pass, and with a super green pass. This chart is in the process of being updated to reflect the new restrictions coming into effect on January 10.
