Here are my top three tips for Rome:

1. You can use your debit or credit card directly at the turnstiles on the Rome subway system, so you don't have to stand in line to buy a ticket!
2. Bring a reusable plastic or metal water bottle with you as you explore the city, because there are nasoni everywhere that bring up cold, fresh spring water from deep underground, and you can refill your bottles for free! There's even an app called Nasoni di Roma so you can locate them (iPhone App - Google Play)
3. Museums and archaeological sites are FREE on the first Sunday of every month!
