Hello, my boyfriend and I will be travelling to Italy for the first time! We will be traveling to Venice, Florence, and Rome in mid March. We will be in this area for roughly a two weeks. We are planning on taking the train from place to place. Any recommendations on train travel or public busses/train within these cities? Planning to visit Vatican city in Rome, best way to get there? Possibly any hidden gems in these areas or unique things to see? Thank you!

There are high speed trains that connect Rome, Florence and Venice.  Each trip takes about 4 hours.  They are comfortable and easy to navigate. Trenitalia.com27   Check out the Hop On Hop Off Bus (Rome and Florence) and Hop On Hop Off Boat tours (Venice).  Great way to get an overview of the city to help you decide what you want to focus on.  Tickets are usually good for 1 -3 days, so you have transportation to the major sites.
