How to validate (check-in) your train ticket (regional tickets only)
Regional tickets require you validate/check in before departure. If you purchase your ticket with ItaliaRail, open your confirmation email and click on the link to check in. Please note, once you check in, you can't make any changes to your ticket. Therefore we recommend you wait to check in until you're sure you'll be taking that particular train on that particular date and time.

If you purchased a Leonardo Express train ticket, your ticket is valid for one trip. You can take any Leonardo Express train on the day you specified at the time of purchase, until 11:59 pm.

How to change the date/time of your regional train ticket
You can make unlimited changes to your regional train ticket departure date or time (or cancel your trip) up until your travel date. You can also change your departure time on the day of travel as long as you haven't already checked in. If you purchased your ticket with ItaliaRail, go to your confirmation email and click the "check-in link" to make changes. (On the screen that opens, click the button marked "Management" and then select "Change date/time.") You won't receive a new confirmation email but the changes will show when you view your tickets by clicking on the check-in link.

See which espresso is best

  • La Casa del Caffè Tazza d'Oro, Via degli Orfani 84 (order the granita di caffè if you want a cool and highly caffeinated treat—it's a coffee slushy with homemade whipped cream!)

Granita di caffè — Tazza d'Oro is right around the corner from the Pantheon!

Closest competitor for "best espresso in Rome" is Sant'Eustachio il Caffè, Piazza di S. Eustachio 82

Remember, if you ask for a "caffè" in Rome then the locals interpret that to mean espresso. If you want an American-style coffee, you have to ask for a "caffè americano." It's not a drip coffee but will be an espresso with additional hot water added.
