Please note these new luggage requirements on Trenitalia high-speed Frecce trains (Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca) starting March 1:
Two pieces of luggage permitted per person
Additional non-luggage items permitted: skis, baby carriages, strollers, musical instruments, bicycles, electric scooters (max 200 cm/79 in each, length + width + depth)
Max luggage size for 2nd class, Standard, and Premium customers = 161 cm/63 in (length + width + depth - no more than 80 cm/31 in each)
Max luggage size for 1st class, Business, and Executive customers = 183 cm/72 in (length + width + depth - no more than 120 cm/47 in each)
Luggage must be properly stored in dedicated storage areas and not block aisles or doors
Luggage must be properly labeled with name and contact information
Passengers found not complying with these regulations are subject to a €50 fine and may be required to offload non-compliant luggage at the next stop.
